So,
First it was the Chinese, then it was the Egyptian's and Now, it's the Indian Government! The Indian IT department is now restricting web content in the country.Any new content can be "tagged" as "harassing", "blasphemous", "disparaging" and "hateful" can be banned. The new rules were issued slyly without anyone
within country aware of any such rules, until recently this month, when the NYT published an online post/article about it. There goes my freedom of speech!

Wired UK, sent some of its subscribers, a highly personalized cover on their issue of Wired UK this month. The experiment was to find critical data of subscribers from their social networks.
The level of details that were found about their subscribers was enormous. From School receipts to hidden fortunes of ex-husbands(Which did lead to a law suit eventually). Read more here http://foo.tc/hIYHgM

Just Received a Mail from #Paypal, Terms changed for Indians due to the #Govt. #FAIL #STUPID

I just received an email from PayPal and if I understand correctly, I CANNOT hold any balance in my account after receiving payment AND I CANNOT purchase anything with the payment received using PayPal, All I Can do is just deposit the money in my bank! Thanks to the Govt. Can't believe I voted for these guys! 

Here are the changes in the PayPal Terms and Conditions. 

  1. Any balance in and all future payments into your PayPal account may not be used to buy goods or services and must be transferred to your bank account in India within 7 days from the receipt of confirmation from the buyer in respect of the goods or services; and 

  2. Export-related payments for goods and services into your PayPal account may not exceed US$500 per transaction.
